You do not know how long it took me to find a "sparkly" Oscar statue - that shizz is intentional!

I don't think I'm the only TwiCracker who's disappointed that 50/50 (co-starring both Twilight's Anna Kendrick and Bryce Dallas Howard and distributed throught Summit) missed out on any nod from the Academy...

Both the story and performances were stellar and, as much as I love Melissa McCarthy *Holla Gilmore Girls!* I'm don't feel Bridesmaids was more deserving by far.

However, Twilighty related nominations for the Oscars 2012 do include:

This morning, The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence doled out the 2012 Academy Award nominations, and while none of the Twilight Saga castmembers or filmmakers were directly nominated, there were a few nods of interest toTwilight fans.

For starters, in the Best Picture category, two Twilight cast mate films were picked - The Help, which stars Bryce Dallas Howard ("Victoria" in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse), and Midnight In Paris, which stars Michael Sheen ("Aro" - Volturi). Midnight In Paris also received several other nominations, including Best Original Screenplay and Best Director.

Both castmates are featured very prominently in these films, so they are probably pretty ecstatic about this news. Two of Howard's The Help co-stars, Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer received Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress nominations as well. Spencer, by the way, was one of the first to react to this weekend's birth of Howard's new daughter.

Gil Birmingham's Rango (he voiced the character "Wounded Bird" for the film), meanwhile, was nominated for Best Animated Feature. That's about as good as it can get with these animated pictures, so congrats to Gil and the wholeRango team.

Next up, actor Demian Bichir was nominated for Best Actor for his work in Summit Entertainment's A Better Life - a film which was directed by The Twilight Saga: New Moondirector Chris Weitz.

Finally, there were a few technical nominations for Twilightcast films as well, including Best Costume Design forAnonymous (which stars Xavier Samuel and Jamie Campbell Bower) and Best Makeup for Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (which features Bower).

Ever since last year's San Diego Comic Con, where SWATH director Rupert Sanders hinted at making a "series" out of the Snow White project, fans have been speculating whether Kristen would be attached to another big budget franchise after the Twilight Saga.

So a friend of mine in "the biz" did a little asking around and it turns out that the same crew are slated to do a version of "Sleeping Beauty" next year!

Although I think this is a cool progression in the series - more so than a Snow White only trilogy - it would almost certainly mean that another actress would be the lead...

Officially, we'll have to wait and see what happens but I'm sure whatever Kristen's future film choices will be solid.

Kristen Stewart is the face of Balenciaga's new perfume fragrance

Now, I can't lie because I will be ordering this product just as soon as it becomes available, and I can not wait to see the gorgeous campaign that will accompany it, but...

I can't help but be a bit disappointed at this news - celebrity perfumes are known for being such cash cows that it saddens me to see Kristen putting her name to one - however reputable the brand.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the thing this fandom loves most about Kristen is her refusal to be anyone but herself, to resist conforming to the Hollywood stereotype and lack of intended commercialism.

Yes, Twilight was turned into a huge franchise with dolls and clothing and jewellery but at Summit's doing...

Heyho, I'm sure it'll turn out bad ass... just please don't start designing shoes or anything?

Balenciaga will soon have its own place in the Twilight. The brand has signed actress Kristen Stewart as the face of the newest Balenciaga fragrance for women.
Stewart, best known for her role as Bella Swan in the blockbuster movie saga, will represent a to-be-announced scent which is expected to be launched this fall.
“Balenciaga has always stood out to me,” Stewart told WWD on Thursday. “Even when I first began to consider fashion and admittedly rarely knew the brand I was wearing, I always recognized and loved Balenciaga. It feels full circle to be involved with something that spoke to me then and of course continues to excite me now. The brand is just cool. That’s the way it is. I feel drawn to it. It provokes on a number of levels. It isn’t afraid or contrived. It hits a very cool balance, always. Always pretty undeniable.”
Balenciaga creative director Nicolas Ghesquière called Stewart the muse for the new scent. “Kristen embodies the modernity of the new Balenciaga fragrance with her unique sensibility and intelligence,” said Ghesquière. “From her early appearance in ‘Panic Room’ to her independent choice of ‘Welcome to the Rileys,’ I’ve always sensed her progressive character. In 2006, I invited her to appear in a project shot by Bruce Weber. Since then, I’ve always wished to collaborate with her further, knowing that she shares the radical spirit of Balenciaga.”
Added Isabelle Guichot, chief executive officer of Balenciaga: “Kristen is the perfect choice as she embodies Nicolas Ghesquière’s unique vision for the second chapter in our fragrance history.”
Charlotte Gainsbourg remains the face of Balenciaga Paris, the first scent from the house, which was launched in 2010.
“Kristen stood out as an evident choice for this new fragrance,” added Catherine Walsh, senior vice president of American fragrances for Coty Prestige, a division of Coty Inc. “She has a unique sense of style, quite original and chic in the way she mixes fashion elements. Her elegant modernity and innate rebel style perfectly match with the spirit of Balenciaga.”
Stewart noted that after a busy 2011, she’s taking a bit of time to relax. “My horizon is clear as of now (except for this!) in terms of new projects, which feels incredible,” she said. “I have finished three films I can’t wait to see come to fruition this year, ‘On The Road,’ ‘Snow White and the Huntsman,’ and ‘Breaking Dawn 2.’”

Lionsgate buys Summit? Meh. They wanna turn Twilight into a TV series? Nooooooo!

The news that Lionsgate was in talks to buy Summit has been floating around the Twinternet for a few days and basically, I ignored it - silly amounts of money were forked (ha) out for an impossibly bankrupt company *shrug* big deal, right?

HOWEVER...

That was before Lionsgate started dropping hints that they might extend Twilight beyond the fifth film... that got my attention. Is someone writing a screenplay for a Renesme / Jacob extension perhaps?

Nope, they want to make even MORE money and turn it into a TV series O_o

For serious:

"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2" may not be the end of Bella, Edward and Jacob's on-screen journey, according to the head of the franchise's new Hollywood home.
The chief executive of Lions Gate Entertainment, which on Friday acquired "Twilight" film studio Summit Entertainment for $412.5 million, said he believes the film franchise will continue to have value to his company,even after the Nov. 16 release of the fifth movie completes the adaptation of author Stephenie Meyer's four books.
"I'm anticipating 'Breaking Dawn Part 2' being $700 million-plus in worldwide box office," said Jon Feltheimer, predicting the next film would slightly outdo the $697 million global take of "Breaking Dawn Part 1."
Asked whether the franchise would continue in some form for Lions Gate, he added, "It's hard for me to imagine a movie that does $700 million-plus doesn't have ongoing value. It's an amazing franchise that they have done a great job of maintaining with absolutely no deterioration. So the simple answer is 'Boy I hope so.'"
One person close to the acquisition deal but not authorized to speak publicly suggested that because Lions Gate, unlike Summit, has a television production unit, it could adapt "Twilight" for the small screen.
Asked whether there was a possibility of bringing "Twilight" to television, Feltheimer answered, "I would certainly hope so."

Come on, guys - like the world needs anymore ammunition to hurl at the fandom - don't make me hate it too.

Broadway's Twilight musical parody adds Jacob to a sparkling cast!

For one night only, Broadway will be vamped up with its own Twilight musical parody.

I know.

At first I was like "Worst idea ever" (it turns out rumours of the Summit/Lionsgate venture turning Twilight into a TV series took that biscuit *cringe* please don't be true!) but raising awareness for a good cause like "Blessings in a Backpack" with vamp and wolfy goodness is all fine by me:

As previously reported, the cast will feature Colin Hanlon (Rent, Wicked) as Edward, Meghann Fahy (Next to Normal) as Bella Swan, Jenna Leigh Green (Wicked) as Rosalie, Hermione (et al.), Lauren Lopez (A Very Potter Musical) as Alice (et al.), Jason Michael Snow (The Book of Mormon) as Harry Potter (et al.), Olli Haaskivi (Jurassic Parq: The Musical) as Jasper (et al.), Eddie Gutierrez (Miss Abigail’s Guide…), Lindsay Dunn (West Side Story), Michael McArthur (Newsies), Kaitlin Mesh (West Side Story) and Clifton Samuels (Follies).

The final additions to the cast are Jeffry Denman (The Producers, Yank!) as Charlie and Carlyle and Jared Zirilli (Lysistrata Jones, Wicked) as Jacob, the role played on screen by Taylor Lautner role.

Bonus, the performance preview is actually looking like it could be pretty good - there is no way NYC is putting on anything less than Twitastic - I wish I was in town to go!

Have you ever wondered... What is Stephenie Meyer hadn't penned our beloved Twilight Saga? What if the story had come in a dream to Lewis Caroll or even Ayn Rand?

Well, io9 pose this interesting question and this is the rather amusing result:

The main problem with Twilight isn't its sparkly vampires who lack all traditional weaknesses, or even its anti-feminist sensibility. When you get right down to it, the trouble is that the writing is terrible, filled with cliche phrases ("smoldering eyes"), repeated words (294 "eyes" in 498 pages) and the reductive characterization of its main characters (Bella is clumsy, and I guess she likes books. Or something).

On a recent car-trip with my husband and the writer Chip Cheek, we mulled over the question: What if great literary writers of the last 200 years had penned Twilight instead?

Herman Melville"Call me Bella." A tome about the length of the original series investigates Bella's monomanical search for the vampire who stole her virginity. There's an entire chapter devoted to describing the devastating whiteness of Edward's skin, and several on the physiognomy of vampires, starting with their skeletal structure outward.

Virginia Woolf - The novel takes place over the course of twenty four hours, during which Bella is painting a portrait of Edward and reflecting on how her femininity circumscribes her role within 20th century society.

Cormac McCarthy - In the opening scene, Edward dashes Bella's head against a rock and rapes her corpse. Then he and Jacob take off on an unexplained rampage through the West.

Jane Austen - Basically the same as the original, except that Bella is socially apt and incredibly witty. Her distrust of Edward is initially bourne out of a tragic misunderstanding of his character, but after a fling with Jacob during which he sexually assaults her (amusing to no one in this version) she and Edward live happily ever after.

George Saunders - Same as the original, but set in a theme park. Somehow involves gangs of robots, which distract the reader from the essential sappiness of Edward and Bella's story.

Raymond Carver - Bella stars as the alcoholic barmaid with daddy issues that Edward, a classic abuser, exploits. When Bella's old friend Jacob comes to visit and is shocked by her bruises, she thinks about leaving him, but instead hits the gin bottle. Hard.

Annie Proulx - Edward and Jacob defy society's expectations up in the mountains.

Lewis Carroll - Bella takes acid and charts syllogisms.

James Joyce - Edward's rapacious love for Bella reflects the way globalism has pillaged Ireland. It's entirely written in Esperanto, with sections in untranslated Greek, except for Chapter 40, which is inexplicably rendered as a script page from the musical The Book of Mormon.

Dorothy Parker - Bella writes a brilliant takedown of the latest school play, dates a string of men, and repeatedly attempts suicide.

Kate Chopin - Stifled by her marriage to Edward, Bella has an affair with Jacob and then drowns herself.

Ernest Hemingway - Edward and Bella exchange terse dialogue alluding to Edward's anatomical problem. Eventually, Bella leaves him for Jacob, a local bullfighter with a giant…sense of entitlement.

Flannery O'Connor - When Native American werewolf Jacob threatens her with death, Bella reconsiders her hardcore racism, and just for one milisecond, the audience finds her sympathetic.

Ayn Rand - Edward tells Bella that he intends to stop saving her life, unless she starts paying him in gold bullion. Hatefucking ensues, then Jacob spouts objectivist philosophy for the next 100 pages.

This certainly looks like Kristen with her On The Road co-star Sam Riley (aka Sal Paradise) and isn't a pic I remember seeing before - could this be a new shot from the movie?

I'm sure I'm not the only one hoping for more official teasers for this film - especially after rumours that the movie's release may be delayed due to legal issues involving the Kerouac estate, we might be waiting longer than we'd like to finally see it - although some lucky bunnies have seen screeners and make it seem like it'll be worth the wait!

So it looks like Robsten won't be Brit-packing it up in the Isle of Wight for the third year running - sad times, but I'd be surprised if they could find a place to stay now the whole place is likely teaming with fans and paps!

I've heard rumours they'll be throwing a New Years Eve party in Los Angeles instead - I wonder if Rob will bust out his new $12,000 vintage guitars that Kristen got him for Christmas (rumour is he spent over $800 on gifts for her - I'm betting they were mostly cooking books and his old clothes).

This "People magazine" cover was floating around the Twinterwebs and causing a freak out amongst the Twidom apparently reporting that Taylor had come out of the closet.

Twitter can calm back down thanks to @GossipCop:

A purported People magazine cover on which Taylor Lautner announces that he’s gay is FAKE.

The image of the supposed January 7, 2012 issue shows Lautner above the phrase “Out & Proud,” and allegedly offers the “Exclusive” that the actor is going public with a bombshell about his sexuality.

“Tired of rumors, the Twilight star opens up about his decision to finally come out,” promises the “People” cover, which quotes Lautner as saying, “I’m more liberated, and happier than I’ve ever been.”

But the magazine cover is 100% phony. It is NOT a real People preview.

A rep for the magazine confirms to Gossip Cop exclusively that it’s “absolutely fake.”

Nevertheless, the Photoshopped fake is being circulated everywhere via Twitter and other social media on Monday.

Spreading fake stories like this one only diminishes the impact of real news – be it Lautner’s or anyone else’s – when it happens.

FYI: The Brad Pitt/Carnie Wilson sidebar is stolen from a May 2006 People cover.*Phew* close call ;)

Today we threw a celebrity party to mark the 250th birthday of founder, Madame Marie Tussaud when her wax figure (first created in 1842) was joined by some contemporary residents of her legendary attraction...

Taylor Lautner– will join his co-star, British actor Robert Pattinson, in the A-List Party at the attraction in January. The American heartthrob was one of the most requested personalities in 2011.

Taylor's waxaquin is looking 108 degrees hotter than Rob's, which was added last March 2010 but if they don't add his wufftastic abs, Madame Tussaud's will be the lesser for it!

So I was at the airport the other day and came across these suitcases that I was sure I'd seen used on Bella and Edward's honeymoon in Breaking Dawn...

I tried my best to find screen-caps to compare but non of the released footage showed the luggage.

I'm pretty sure this was the vanity case Bella frantically searches through on Isle Esme (although it looked less green and more brown if I recall).

Looks like Rob was a fan of the matching case (until Kristen got all that swag from Mulberry at least) when spotted in LA back in October.

These look a pretty close match to me... what do you think?

Update: I found a - pretty legit seeming - fan encounter from the venue earlier the same evening (damn I wish I was in London right now!) here's an excerpt:

“Twilight’s”Ashley Greene is one red hot chili pepper in the Mexican edition of Esquire magazine. She flashes a sexual side that would make a cold-blooded vampire boil.
Greene, who plays Alice Cullen, has been a fixture in the Twilight series through four films in a supporting role to Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.
But she’s been one of the unquestioned beauties in the movies and has added a sexy energy to the otherwise staid Cullen clan. She tells the magazine she’s always been a bit of a rough-neck.
“My parents would be, like, ‘don’t go on the trampoline, or you’ll break something,’ and I would go for it anyway and break a bone,” she says. “I still have four scars from when I broke my femur.”
“I always wanted to be like my brother because he was a year and a half older than me. That’s when I got into martial arts,” she said, according to a translation by fan site Twilight Poison.
Greene left home at 17 and headed for Hollywood to be an actress. She worked the night shift in a bowling alley and a hotel, she says, while she auditioned on the side and fought off the Hollywood mashers in between.
One of her first roles was a stabbing victim in the hit television show “Crossing Jordan,” she recounts. “I’m dating a guy who stabs me,” she adds.
Needless to say, her parents weren’t too happy with the part. “I didn’t think about it, but it must have been hard for them to watch as a parent.”
Twilight, of course, hugely changed her life, but the way she see’s it, she’s just back on that trampoline.
“Twilight gave me a trampoline on which I feel like I can jump and nothing will stop me,” she says.
Greene’s latest film “Butter” with Olivia Wilde opened in September. She’ll next be appearing in “LOL” with Miley Cyrus.
She’s also slated to appear in “The Boom Boom Room,” a sexually charged yarn about Wall Street.
Ashley is also taking a turn on the small-screen with a three episode arc in the new series “Pan Am,” with Christina Ricci.
She will debut in the Dec. 4th episode titled “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.” Hopefully Greene can give the series a lift.

No eggs for breakfast, final edit?

One of the most anticipated scenes in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1? The long awaited wedding between Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella (Kristen Stewart). And considering how many people went to see the movie in theaters this weekend, plenty of people have now gotten to see the action for themselves. (But for formality’s sake, consider this your official SPOILER ALERT.)
We’ve already told you about why the Iron & Wine song that plays during the ceremony held special significance for some of the cast, but Stewart and Pattinson also tell EW about some of the things audiences didn’t get to see.
For example, the moment when Pattinson channeled another actor while filming the speech he gives at the wedding to his new bride. “No one was there really,”he says. “Just a bunch of extras. And for one of the takes, I went into a total Christopher Walken impression. I don’t know why. [Director] Bill [Condon] said, ‘What just happened? Why are you suddenly playing this like Christopher Walken?’ And I just couldn’t get out of it. It’s one of the weirdest things that’s ever happened to me.” He laughs. “I wish it happened more often.”
Another scene, featuring the Denali cousins (important because of their role in Breaking Dawn — Part 2, out November 2012) coming over to congratulate Bella and Edward, apparently didn’t make the final cut. “A little tiny piece of the scene made it into the movie,” explains Stewart. “It was the last thing we shot, at 4 a.m. We did my close-up last, and I was laughing — literally laughing! — just looking at these ladies. All of a sudden it seemed so ridiculous to me, like, who are all these people at my wedding?”
“That scene just went on and on. It felt like forever. I loved it,” laughs Pattinson. “I always like the scenes where Kristen loses it.” A bonus feature for the DVD, perhaps?

I'm all about DVD extra features, but if there isn't a longer cut honeymoon night scene on there (ifyouknowwhatImean) then I'll lose it Rosalie style on someone's ass!
