i agree with the bryce thing it looks good tho, hopefully it's well done and good acted and everytihing. twilight was a let down. new moon was well done. hopefully eclispe is good this looks ok but im kind of worried for some reason. it doenst look as refined as new moon if that makes any sense
I love it :D I did not like new moon and this seems better. It has this creepy/spooky/you name it thing going on that i like. I can't WAIT to see the newborns. Squeeeeeee indeed :D

I want to love the movie SO BAD considering that it was my favorite book out of the whole series, but I just can't for some reason. The absence of the other Cullens is everywhere I look. It's like a hole punched through my chest. Where are Jasper and Rosalie at the very least, considering their roles in Eclipes? I hope the full theatrical trailer alludes to the newborn army and Rosalie's history.
That being said, I LOVED IT! As a teaser trailer whose sole focus is the love triangle, this is A+ material!!!

Holy shiz-bam, that was awesome! I'm so freaking excited and it's only March. Gah, why can't time go faster... I def see the darker feel/look, and I'm a wee bit undecided on that. I don't want the campy acting/ cheap lighting look from Twilight, but I don't want the A-list flim look tainting the series. If that makes any sense...probably not. :) The shirtless Jacob part, even though I'm Team Edard, um, maybe I kinda sorta, absolutely loved it. :) Ssh, don't tell anyone, I feel like a traitor. I really appreciated the whole "Isabella Swan" she-bang at the beginning, considering my name is Isabella. Wow, I am so glad my parents decided not to name me Ashley. :) Only 110 more days...110 more days...110 more days.
YES!!! i love Eclipse too. my favorite book. but something about this felt off. i wasn't a fan of twilight till after twilight came out on dvd. so i wasn't at all pumped to see the first movie. i was super pumped to see new moon and it isn't my favorite book. however when the movie came out it was alright. yes, it looks great. is kind of true to the story, better in some spots...but i can't get passed the no edward and i don't believe the bella and jacob relationship. the bonding they had was shown in a montage. either who, i've been nervous about eclipse since david slade made those comments. this is suppose to be "my" movie. i'm really hoping its just that's still super early, and everything isn't polished yet. they did just get a new editing person. :/
Hello there…first off I just want to say I love this site and reading everyone’s comments and opinions. You have no idea how good it feels to be able to relate to others about the same obsession I have. My husband literally thinks I’ve lost my mind and wants to have me committed…LOL! Okay back to my original thought. I was so pumped for this trailer to be released that I was up at 5:00am this morning searching for anything I could find. I truly loved it, but feel like I was cheated just a wee bit - I wanted more – maybe I was expecting more; not sure. I was hoping to get a glimpse of the others and I’m not sure about Bryce instead of Rachelle playing the part of Victoria. The next 3 months are going to drive me crazy with anticipation to see how this movie turns out since Eclipse was one of my favorite books even though at times I loathed Bella. I will be in NYC for the release of the movie at the end of June. Is it June already!
im sorry but its seriously lacking. I want to see a little bit of everything, i want to see the humans, I want to see the Cullens, i want to see werewolves, I want to see new borns. All we got was a bunch of quick glances of Edward and Jacob. And last but not least, I want to see her trying to get in his pants. I hope they dont release a bunch of other trailers that show the whole movie like they did new moon. But i hope they do give us another short one with alittle bit more excitement.
I was there the day they filmed victoria's jump. I was watching with some crew around the corner. It was filmed at Cleveland Dam in North Vancouver. It was a stunt double. Non of the main cast were there. So excited to see this. You made my day!

Thats the way Stephanie writes his character, a careful speaker. Rob potrays that so well. Taylor is a bit too serious for my Jacob. He lacks the goofiness of book Jake.
Bravo Slade. I have faith in you. It looks plenty romantic to me.
Kerry, I'm the Anon above you (and thanks Maggie ;) and I actually agree with you to an extent... I think Rob does try to portray Edward as the book describes. However, a little more spice, a lot less blinking, and a lot less squinting would be super nice. It's distracting.
I think Taylor does a great job. IMO, he acts rings around Kristen AND Rob. He is a slave to the script, however. I'm not the biggest fan of Melissa Rosenberg's screenwriting on these films. I appreciate the difficulty of her job. I do. I just think a better screenwriter could have put it from books to screen a bit better than she. To be fair, that has been a part (albeit small) of Kristen's sub-par Bella.
I will concede that Kristen improved tremendously in New Moon. Still missing a lot when it comes to giving Bella life. Again, just my opinion. A strong one though.
I am not going to get my hopes too high for Eclipse. Hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised. I thought New Moon was great, for the most part.
Basically, I putting all my hopes in the Breaking Dawns. Yes, two. I'm hoping that by the time they (yes I said 'they') are made, everyone will have their sh*t together, and do a bang up job. I want to cry at the end, and not just because I know the story, but because the actors make me FEEL it. Melissa needs to come through for them. A group effort.
I am very disappointed. This is my favorite book and I'm so looking forward to seeing this movie. I'm afraid of what I'm seeing in this trailer though. The thing that's missing from this trailer is EMOTION. Rob, Kristen, and Taylor all seem bored or tired (the K-Stew School of Acting, you hit the nail on the head with that one). For example, when Jacob says that he'll fight for Bella as long as her heart is still beating, I imagined him saying it with much stronger emotion than what was delivered in the trailer. I mean, he's talking to the girl he loves about her losing her life and becoming what he hates. I think he'd be angry and frustrated, at least, that's the way I read it in the book. You'd think that Taylor would have, at a minimum, raised his voice, even a little bit! I mean, come on! I hope so much that the next trailer will be better.
Oh, and I still cannot stand Dakota Fanning as Jane. I think that Rob looks better in this film than in New Moon - Yummy!

I thought he got used to the contacts...at least, he should be by now. :) It reminds me of Bella in the hospital bed in Twilight where she had the mini spaz-attack, "you just can't say stuff to me like that." *breaths like a woman going into labor* I agree about the screenwriter. I thought they could've found someone with better Idk if this is the right word, skill. I mean, the lines sound like she threw them together right before handing the script to David Slade. And at other times, it sounds like she thought waaaay too hard on some. I wonder if in the script she says, "Blink like there is something caught in your eye." "Breathe like your heart is abusing your chest." "Deliver this line as campy as you can." Idk, just some ideas :)
Summit should NOT have been given the rights to this movie. Summit is run by amateurs. Ugh. They are the lamest of all movie-making companies. The only good movie was the first Twilight and it has gone down hill since then. Can't Stephenie Meyer get her rights back and sell the movie to a company who knows what it's doing? Who is in charge over at Summit anyway? It's like they all graduated from the Pasadena community college of movie-making. Sad sad sad. One disaster follows the next. No wonder Stephenie Meyer hides in Arizona under a rock and won't write anymore Twilight books. She's too ashamed. What a sad state of affairs. Can't SM get the people who made Harry Potter to make her movies? At least the Harry Potter people produce good movies. Summit will never make anything good, ever. Even this trailer is too embarrassing to watch, and New moon was ghastly. Eclipse is going to be worse. I'm not even going to bother to see it. I already know it's going to suck. After all, if they can't make a good 1.5 minute trailer...? Come on!!! What a waste.
I agree with the person who said the main trio is lacking emotion. They are so freaking dull. And Jake is supposed to be all cocky and a bit aggressive in his pursuit of Bella. And I've had a problem with Rob's mumbling since NM. Soon he'll have to be subtitled. The Victoria situation is all Summit's fault. I have nothing against Bryce, I was always a fan of hers, she's a great actress. But I can't get past missing Rachelle in this role, like many others. And the wig is a disaster. I like the cinematography shown in this trailer, looks promising. But the trailer itself is very poorly put together. As in, it doesn't imply a plot much more different than NM's, which is a shame because out of all 4 books, Eclipse is the most promising both plot and movie wise. I agree with the person who said that it's like deleted scenes from NM. I expect a darker tone of this movie and a lot of action. It's like they were afraid to show that side of the movie so that the fans wouldn't jump them for no romance and as a result gave us some already seen melodrama. Shame, really. Eclipse has so much potential to make a great trailer.
Overall, I think this movie is going to be awesome. There will obviously be way more action, and of course romance. I'm definitely not thrilled that Rachelle isn't playing Victoria anymore, because she was the best. But I'm still hoping Bryce won't disappoint. I hope they show more in the next full-length trailer (i.e. The Cullens, newborns, humans, etc)
As much as I would like to like this. It looks pretty bad. I hate bellas/kristens hair/ make up it looks so bad, and same with edward/robs. And honestly everyone looks like they are in the middle of a painful sh!t in like every scene, especially edward, someone give him a laxative already.
Also I dont like Bryce, just the look of her in that tiny clip is wrong, Rachelle did a way better job, she had a better look.

I mean, he's talking to the girl he loves about her losing her life and becoming what he hates. I think he'd be angry and frustrated, at least, that's the way I read it in the book. You'd think that Taylor would have, at a minimum, raised his voice, even a little bit! I mean, come on! I hope so much that the next trailer will be better.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I still cannot stand Dakota Fanning as Jane. I think that Rob looks better in this film than in New Moon - Yummy!

I thought he got used to the contacts...at least, he should be by now. :) It reminds me of Bella in the hospital bed in Twilight where she had the mini spaz-attack, "you just can't say stuff to me like that." *breaths like a woman going into labor*
ReplyDeleteI agree about the screenwriter. I thought they could've found someone with better Idk if this is the right word, skill. I mean, the lines sound like she threw them together right before handing the script to David Slade. And at other times, it sounds like she thought waaaay too hard on some. I wonder if in the script she says, "Blink like there is something caught in your eye." "Breathe like your heart is abusing your chest." "Deliver this line as campy as you can." Idk, just some ideas :)
Summit should NOT have been given the rights to this movie. Summit is run by amateurs. Ugh. They are the lamest of all movie-making companies. The only good movie was the first Twilight and it has gone down hill since then. Can't Stephenie Meyer get her rights back and sell the movie to a company who knows what it's doing? Who is in charge over at Summit anyway? It's like they all graduated from the Pasadena community college of movie-making. Sad sad sad. One disaster follows the next. No wonder Stephenie Meyer hides in Arizona under a rock and won't write anymore Twilight books. She's too ashamed. What a sad state of affairs. Can't SM get the people who made Harry Potter to make her movies? At least the Harry Potter people produce good movies. Summit will never make anything good, ever. Even this trailer is too embarrassing to watch, and New moon was ghastly. Eclipse is going to be worse. I'm not even going to bother to see it. I already know it's going to suck. After all, if they can't make a good 1.5 minute trailer...? Come on!!! What a waste.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the person who said the main trio is lacking emotion. They are so freaking dull. And Jake is supposed to be all cocky and a bit aggressive in his pursuit of Bella. And I've had a problem with Rob's mumbling since NM. Soon he'll have to be subtitled.
ReplyDeleteThe Victoria situation is all Summit's fault. I have nothing against Bryce, I was always a fan of hers, she's a great actress. But I can't get past missing Rachelle in this role, like many others. And the wig is a disaster.
I like the cinematography shown in this trailer, looks promising. But the trailer itself is very poorly put together. As in, it doesn't imply a plot much more different than NM's, which is a shame because out of all 4 books, Eclipse is the most promising both plot and movie wise. I agree with the person who said that it's like deleted scenes from NM.
I expect a darker tone of this movie and a lot of action. It's like they were afraid to show that side of the movie so that the fans wouldn't jump them for no romance and as a result gave us some already seen melodrama. Shame, really. Eclipse has so much potential to make a great trailer.
Overall, I think this movie is going to be awesome. There will obviously be way more action, and of course romance. I'm definitely not thrilled that Rachelle isn't playing Victoria anymore, because she was the best. But I'm still hoping Bryce won't disappoint. I hope they show more in the next full-length trailer (i.e. The Cullens, newborns, humans, etc)
ReplyDeleteAs much as I would like to like this. It looks pretty bad. I hate bellas/kristens hair/ make up it looks so bad, and same with edward/robs. And honestly everyone looks like they are in the middle of a painful sh!t in like every scene, especially edward, someone give him a laxative already.
