New Moon Casting Process is Complete, so where does that leave Solomon Trimble?

Live PR reports that Joseph Middleton, the casting director for New Moon, has announced that the New Moon casting process is finished.

With this news, where does this leave Solomon Trimble? Team Solomon has a slew of recent Solomon interview links up on their website, and encourages everybody who is interested to sign their petition to retain the original Twilight cast -- including Solomon Trimble. In a recent interview with Twilighters Anonymous, Solomon mentioned how touched he is by fan support:

"Are you aware of the countless petitions all over the web to support you and bring you back for New Moon? How do you feel about the dedication that all of your fans display?

Solomon: I’ve just recently become aware of the petitions and feel so supported by the fans. I am deeply moved. It helps me focus in the gym and keeps me motivated to stay on my Quileute studies. They’re awesome."

Another Potential Hat in the Ring: Paul Weitz May Direct Eclipse?

Acting411 has an Eclipse audition update that says that Paul Weitz will be directing Eclipse.

There have been rumors circulating that Drew Barrymore will be directing the third installment of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Series. These rumors are false. Due to the New Moon post-production schedule for director Chris Weitz, his brother and co-owner of "Depth of Field Productions" - Paul Weitz - will be directing Eclipse.

Note: This is an *unconfirmed* rumor. As with all rumors, let's wait and see what actually happens.

Coincidentally, Film.com suggested Paul Weitz as a possibility for Eclipse director in their New Moon Rumor Roundup:

Rumor: Chris Weitz has already been fired from Eclipse.

Verdict: I know it sounds harsh, but it’s pretty much true. In order to hit that June 30, 2010, release date, Eclipse will have to begin shooting while New Moon is still in post-production. Weitz can’t be in two places at once; therefore, a new director will need to be hired to helm Eclipse. It seems to me that Summit is taking a big risk here. What if the fans love what Weitz does with New Moon and become angry that he was never given the chance to return for Eclipse? (Easy solution: Summit can keep things in the family by hiring Chris’ brother/frequent collaborator, Paul Weitz, to direct Eclipse!)

Kristen Stewart & Taylor Lautner Sang Karaoke in Japan Too: More Details!

Looks like Robert Pattinson isn't the only crooner in Twilight. Just Jared Jr. reports that Kristen & Taylor also joined in on Robert & Hugh Jackman's Karaoke fun.

At around 10PM on Wednesday (February 26), Rob joined Australia star Hugh Jackman, director Baz Luhrmann and producer John Palermo at a karaoke bar near their hotel, as first reported by E!. Here’s the connection: On Sunday, Rob presented at the Oscars, Hugh ably hosted the swank event, John created the flashy opening number, Baz choreographed the “Musicals Are Back!” number and everyone wound up taking the same flight to Japan together.

A Tokyo journalist confirms to JustJared.com that the foursome (plus friends) sang for a few hours before Rob’s costars Kristen and Taylor joined in on the fun. Photographers caught them leaving bar around 3AM.

Another Hat in the Ring: Drew Barrymore up for Eclipse Director?

First, the Spanish director of The Orphanage, Juan Antonio Bayona, and 3:10 to Yuma helmer James Mangold were rumored to be in talks to direct Eclipse. Now Drew Barrymore may be throwing her hat into the ring.

EW.com reports that Drew Barrymore is being considered to direct Eclipse:

As Summit Entertainment looks to lock in a director for the third installment of the Twilight series, Eclipse, the company is talking to a select group of directors -- including actress-turned-helmer Drew Barrymore, EW has learned. While this news may come as a surprise to some, Barrymore did just finish work on her directorial debut, Whip It! starring Ellen Page. Neither Summit nor Barrymore's reps would comment for this story

We shall see if this holds true! However, given that there is a petition to get Volterra in New Moon, looks like Volterra is not necessarily set in stone yet, so this could be B.S.

Anyhoo, us older Twilight fans (and there are plenty of us!) would go to jail if we started to consider Taylor that way. Ew.

Paris Pounces on Robert Pattinson (Gah!!)

The UK Daily Mirror reports that Paris was all over Robert Pattinson at an Oscar after-party:

The 27-year-old stunned the guests at a lavish Oscars do by dragging gorgeous Twilight actor Robert Pattinson, 22, outside to the garden for, er, private time.

We watched aghast as the likes of the Olsen twins and Paris's ex Benji Madden stood open-mouthed at her antics.

Guests at the Patrick Whitesell's bash in the Hollywood Hills saw Paris go into overdrive trying to snare her man.

It became the talk of the party as we got a flirting masterclass from the hotel heiress.

She started off by dragging her little sister Nicky around the mansion hunting for her prey and when she found the Brit star she wasn't going to let him go.

They were giggling and in deep conversation for an hour before she led him to the garden for some privacy.

Unfortunately for her Robert left at 4.30am to fly to Japan. Lucky escape, mate...

Ooh, look what's featured on Twilight Lexicon! Stephenie is featured in Vogue.com this month and here is what she had to say about Midnight Sun:

"A more interesting and controversial story is the fifth book in the Twilight saga, a version of the first book told from Edward's perspective. It was leaked last year by a source still unidentified onto the Internet, all but about six pages. It was a huge blow. "Now I'm over it," she says, "but I feel really distanced from the project. It was oddly devastating." Although she is currently taking a break, she may continue the Twilight story, but she seems wary of books in series. "I'm experiencing, I think, a little bit of stage fright at this point."

Twilight was featured yesterday in NPR commentator Maureen Corrigan's Books We Like column:

"If you're familiar with Bram Stoker's Dracula (or seen the katrillion movies made from it), you know that vampires are about sex. The whole "I vant to suck your blood" routine is a cover story to cloak commingling. And therein lies the brilliance of Meyer's revision of the Dracula tale. Because, in the Twilight series, vampires are still a cover story for talking about sex, but this time round the emphasis is on abstinence. Edward, whose character is indebted to 19th-century brooding bad boys like Mr. Darcy and Mr. Rochester, is a vampire vegan. In other words, he keeps his fangs, uh, "zipped up."

Solomon Trimble Has Immersed Himself in Twilight in Preparation for Uncertain New Moon Future

A couple of weeks ago The Twilight Files had an opportunity to interview Solomon Trimble, and they asked him how he feels about possibly becoming a bigger player in the Twilight sequels:

"I’m ready. I’ve been working out for 2 hours a day every day for so long now, and eating an ungodly amount of chicken and drinking horrible weight gainer. I’ve been learning and writing powwow songs in Quileute and re-reading the books and working with an acting coach, just submersing myself in this. I’m probably too focused, I don’t know the last time I watched T.V. or did anything non-Twilight related. I use poetry as an outlet, but even it has a Twilight flavor as of late."

Kristen Stewart Graces March 2009 'Nylon' Cover, Dishes on B.S. Twilight Questions and Drops Lots o' F-Bombs

After all of this incessant Rob-at-the-Oscars coverage, KStew needs a little love. Nylon Magazine has a cool interview with Kristen, excerpted here:

On the Twilight Madness: “Anywhere we’d go for Twilight was a psychotic situation. The sound was deafening, and it’s thoughtless, as well… You get a slew of all these bulls--t questions like, ‘What’s it like to kiss a vampire?’ and ‘How much do you love Robert?’ Then you’ll get one that’s actually real, but you’re like, ‘No, I can’t right now, I can’t even consider [it].”

On her memorable David Letterman appearance: “I feel like I have nothing to say on those shows… I’m not good at the funny thing—most people are really great on those shows. I don’t have a contrived personality that [I can] just pump out [for] a five-minute segment, so I end up sitting there and looking kind of baffled. Embarassing.”

And no, she’s not dating Robert Pattinson. “It’s just totally false… Rob and I are good friends. We went through a lot together, so we feel very close. But if we go out in public, every little detail is scrutinized, like the way I stand next to him. And it’s like, I know this guy really f---ing well [laughs]. It’s only natural that we’re sort of leaning on each other, because we’re put in the most f---ing psychotic situations.”

On who she’s actually dating: “He’s older than me—he’s 20 now—but when you’re 13 and he’s turning 16, it was always sort of an out-of-reach thing. Then you get a little older, and you realize, ‘Oh, What the f--- am I thinking? I can have you, like, lickity...’” she snaps her fingers, laughing. “He’s awesome.”

News of Breaking Dawn Special Edition Gets My Hopes Up for Nothing -- and Reveals My True Feelings About BD

I just saw New Moon Movie's announcement about the July, 2009 release of a Special Edition of Breaking Dawn -- and got excited over nothing.

Somehow, my immediate thought was that Stephenie was releasing a revised version of Breaking Dawn with rewritten scenes (e.g. maybe make up for the anti-climactic fade-to-black honeymoon disappointment?), which made me happy. As I read on, I soon realized that the Special Edition isn't gonna be special in the way I'd assumed. Instead of a sigh-inducing honeymoon scene or other re-writes, we get a full-color poster and some unspecified exclusives.

Meh^100.

To Breaking Dawn lovers disappointed by my sentiments -- I *really* wish that I loved BD as much as you do, and I'm heartbroken that I don't! I am a die-hard TwiHard, but like Hitler, I was not completely dazzled by Breaking Dawn.
