No Silver Volvo And Now A Red Rabbit?!

Amanda and Maria went to the Eclipse set today and emailed in what looks like Jacob's Rabbit being removed... thing is, wasn't his car black for New Moon?

For some reason, I always pictured it white... that might just be the bunny "follow the white rabbit" association though :)

What's with all the colour changes?

Thanks aquapinkmash

- Lorabell *confused*

UPDATE: According to old New Moon set-stalking pics, Jacob's Rabbit may be darker in New Moon movie, but who knows what the final car turned out as?

And, as some readers pointed out, Jacob's Rabbit is RED in the book series. Thanks -- TCA

  3. the rabbit is supposed to be red. i remember my friend and i were wondering a long time ago (because she has a black rabbit)and then i was reading and realized it was red and got really excited. unfortunately it was way too long ago for me to remember where it says the car is red.

  4. oh here, i found it! page 236 of eclipse: "About halfway to La Push, we rounded the corner and found Jacob leaning against the side of the red Volkswagen he'd built for himself out of scraps."

  5. Unfortunately, this happens all the time. It is just more noticeable when books go to the screen; details like this get changed or mistaken from flick to flick, sometimes within the same flick. I'm just hoping the story goes somewhat with the book and it is entertaining.

All these adjustments or mishaps are can make a brain hurt trying to remember details from the books but I love that there is always someone out there (Anon 10:30 PM) who can pull the details out of the book for you so we have the clear answer.

  6. i think that one pic that could have been his wasn't....and edwards car could be just a mix-up too...because why would the producers go through all the trouble to make the movie as accurate as possible to just go and make those silly mistakes.

  7. In the Book.. Jacob says its red. And in Eclipse when Edward and Jacob are sharing Bella.. SHe mentions the red car too....

  8. Well, that's it! I'm skipping the whole saga if they keep changing car colors. It's all so integral to the plot that I won't be able to concentrate. Oh, wait - I'll just have another glass of wine. All better now.

  9. PEOPLE! JACOBS RABBIT IS RED!! They're sticking to the book on this vehicle! Makes me laugh that everyones all mad about the changes when they obviously didn't know what color it was in the first place. lol

  10. CHristy! we get that, but in the the MOVIE not the book it was implied and speculated that the rabbit was gonna be black. but thanks

  11. people are just confused why in the movie it was black before but now is red, jacob probably fixes it up and paints it red, you dont have to go all hardcore on everyone, jeeze

  12. Honestly I think it's ridiculous that people put so much time and energy into worrying about the car colors and minor details. It matters nothing to the plot, and they can't make the movie exactly like the books.

Sometimes things are out of their control. For example, for all you know there's a product placement deal with Volvo that dictates the type car used.

But in the big scheme of things if the Volvo is silver or black or whether a VW is black or red doesn't have a thing to do with the story or the plot. It's just a detail.

  13. @random Chic- my thoughts exactly!!

  14. @ annon 2:48- OH! Sorry! I missed the part where SUMMIT "implied and speculated" to the fans that Jacobs red rabbit would be black. SORRY. (So everyones upset that Summit said it would be black and now has changed the color to red like the books? They want it black? I don't get it)

  15. yea, I thought the Rabbit was red and the motorcycle Jacob rides is shiny black.

Is it sad we know these things? (nah, I don't think so either...!)

  16. Christy, the rabbit was never supposed to be black. Obviously the person you're back-and forthing with feels stupid for being WRONG, so she's making things up. Btw, not the first time Lorabell has stirred up sh*t because she's posted things that were completely FALSE. May I suggest re-reading the books, Lorabell, as it seems you are so often "confused" as to the important details within? (yes, I said "important". Car colors, sun shining in meadows...all good, important stuff).

  17. calm down.. you are all psychooooooooooo WHO CARES

  18. LOL Jacobs car was never supposed to be black! Where do you people get this from? Worrying yourselves and starting arguments. ITA w/the poster who said to read the books more carefully! If you don't have the time, at least take a minute to look up a fact before you go posting your mouths off! Sillyness.

  19. Woah - a couple of set-spotters emailed in the photo of the red Rabbit and recalled that a black one had been spotted before - as I linked!

I just thought it was interesting and didn't realize it would be taken as "sh*t stirring".

    - Lorabell

P.s. Details like colours do change - Bella's bike in the trailer is blue/green not red like the book describes :)

  20. Who cares about things "seen on-set" that no one can honestly say will show up in the movie? The point is, details in the BOOK don't change. Are you purposely avoiding that fact? People have pointed it out to you quite a few times, and you still don't seem to get it. Either you're trying to spin things, or you're just that 'thick'. I think I'll stay off this site for a while, you're way too annoying. (that IS being nice)

    ReplyDelete
  21. Well of course details in the books don't change - but alot of people do care about specifics in the movie staying true.
I'll restrain myself from saying many things right now other than - see ya!
    - Lorabell :)

  22. Spin spin spin....Seeing and speculating about things on set is quite different than caring about specifics in the movie. If you could read as well as you twist words around, you'd be ok. But you do not read very well Lorabell, in books nor on the internet. Go ahead and "say many things"- whatever you want, I'm sure you'll just come across as unintelligent, as usual. So have at it. In fact, maybe I'd be doing a service to us long time Twicrack readers by popping in every so often to point out your stupidity. Maybe TCA will get rid of you one of these days and the site will go back to being decent again.

  23. Um, whoa. Talk about getting your panties in a twist over a whole lotta nothing, Anonymous.

Normally, I just chuckle when I read stupid comments like yours and then move on to something else because, at the end of the day, it's really just not that serious.

I was trying to take into consideration that you are merely a child or something but then you had to go and make personal attacks. That just makes me want to jump into the melee because it's people like you who are too cowardly to use a pseudonym and hide behind your "anonymous" moniker that always ending being a flaming troll and ruining it for the rest of us.

So, here's the deal. I don't see anywhere in this post or comments where Lorabell said the car in the book was not red. In the movie yes (and she even gave us a nifty little link) there is a black car and that's what she's talking about.

Want to know who is 'stirring shit up' as you like to say, Anonymous? It's you.

Keep the Ad Hominems to yourself next time and grow up.

  24. Nice try Jenny Jerkface. "Hiding" behind "Anonymous"??? Reeaally, "Jenny Jerkface". Not exactly revealing eh? Yet the name does suit you.;)

Those of us who have been paying attention know that Lorlor altered the original post. She most definitely indicated that she thought the car was black in the book. Perhaps you are her, hiding behind Jerkface? LOLOL Me thinks perhaps YOU take this stuff too seriously. Sorry to burst your heroic bubble...I'm sure you put a lot of time and effort into that long, boring post. Oh well, that's the breaks.
