Now I've recovered *ahem* from those steamy RPattz pics...
Perez Hilton blogged earlier today that New Moon could potentially run 5 hours - despite the amusing photo caption I disregarded this as "attention seeking behaviour" ;)
However, it turns out this stemmed from MTV's interview with Death Cab for Cutie who did watch a special 5 hour version screening - I'm not jealous ... Really!
Although I doubt the finalized movie will be much longer than 2 hours - if we're lucky - you know what this means?! DVD extras!
I'm talking hours of "Directors cut", "deleted scenes", "alternate endings" (haha!), "bonus footage" GOLD - awww yeah!

Thats amazing new..... 5 hours with Robward n Bells I am in TWIHEAVEN.... Um did I mention that I have my tix? Yeah I am freaking out. I turned into a Twi chatter box tonight. My husband is bugging out.
ReplyDeleteSeriously? I would pay double ticket price to sit through 5 hours of New Moon...hell I'd pay just about anything they asked! PLEASE let ALL the extra footage end up on the DVD...doubtful...but hoping nonethless!!

ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind a 5 hour version AT ALL. I think New Moon deserves at least 2 and a half hours, to be very realistic. Unless they want the movie to be rushed like Twilight was.

I'd love a 5 hour version, too. Check the MTV article again, the Death Cab guys said, "We haven't seen anything more than anyone else has seen. We've seen the trailer, and that's really about it."

I wonder what they do with all the extra footage that doesn't even make it on the DVD after the extras and additional cut scenes are added!

ReplyDeleteI am so getting the 2 disc special edition this time too! A 5 hour NM movie would be so nice, but I guess that's raising the expectations to an unreasonable level *sigh*
ReplyDeleteOh man!!! I hate that movie length has become such a standardized 2 hour time frame!! Whatever happened to the 3-4 hour classics like Gone with the Wind, and even Titanic is really long!!! Come on Chris Weitz, keep it all in for us twicrack addicts, we want the full 5 hours!!!
