Read the rest here.So any director updates? And how exactly will the final movie be made?
"There are no formal plans yet," Deep Twi tells us.
Uh, well, want to know why that is? We've heard a bit of incredibly juicy info...
Execs over at Summit are going back to the idea of splitting BD into two films.
Remember, last time we checked in with Deep Twi it was looking like Dawn would only be one movie, but recently everyone internally has been referring to it as "the Breaking Dawn films." That's right, you didn't imagine the plural ending there.
Still, nothing has been decided yet. Most likely what's happening is Rob 'n' crew agreed to a fourth…not fifth. Once the cast determines if they are up for five, then Melissa can plan accordingly about how to pen out this fourth flick.
Thanks, Coral!

ooh that manip is just....scary
ReplyDeleteI'm all for Melissa Rosenberg being replaced as writer of BD. I was so let down with her version of Twilight...as was everyone. The actors saved it in my opinion. BD can be visually stimulating and non-stop action if written well.
ReplyDeleteOk maybe I'm just crazy but wouldn't she have had some broken ribs by the time she was that big . . . I'm just sayin'!
ReplyDeleteAs much as I am a huge fan of the Twilight Saga, I don't like the idea of 2 movies for Breaking Dawn. This is not bloody Shakespeare here, Good God, Mel Gibson took a story on William Wallace (Braveheart) which spanned this man's life and filmed it in 177 minutes, I know that's almost 3 hours, but fans went back to see Twilight numerous times & will do the same regardless of the running time with the remaining films. Why not make Breaking Dawn more of a epic feature that has a longer running time. How hard is it to get a marriage, honeymoon, pregnancy, the background with Jacob & Charlie and then the battle scene into one movie, correct me if I missed any other key points in BD. To be honest I think if Summit did 2 movies, It will only be because they our monopolizing on this franchiise, It's all about the $$. Let these kids finish up with the series and move onto other projects.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the person above. There is no reason besides greed why Breaking Dawn needs to be made into two movies. It is not like Deathly Hallows where if you left out certain aspects there would be large holes in the plot line. Really Bella and Edward get married, she gets pregnant, has a demon spawn baby, get caught by Irena and reported to the Volturi, and then prepare for a big battle where really nothing even happens. I love the Twilight Saga but Breaking Dawn should not be made into two. They need to be more focused on how they are going to create Renesmee because if they do her wrong the whole movie will be an epic fail.
ReplyDeleteThanks Asha, I thought I was going to get pounded with that opinion, I did want to clear up one thing in regards to key scenes, when I talk about the pregnancy I am including the birth scene and Bella's transformation too. I think you cleared it up for me in your post, thanks. And I am in agreement with you too, better get the creation of Nessie right!
ReplyDeleteI would like to see 2 movies, maybe "Breaking Dawn: Jacob's Story", probably the wedding through the birth of Renesmee and Bella's change. Then "Breaking Dawn: Bella's Story" the rest of the story. IDK! There's just so much to that last book that I'd like to see it in two movies to get it right.
ReplyDeleteAt first, I was opposed to the idea of two films, because I really hate when TV or films are dragged out too long. But when I do think about how much happens in BD, I really don't want the scenes to be squished together, or any of the story lines to be done half way. If they were willing to make a three hour movie, I think it would be fine, but a two hour film would not suffice for all of the plot in BD.
ReplyDeleteI think two movies will be fine. BD is very complex with a lot of details. I was disappointed with Twilight because is nothing like the book! Fans will see the movie no matter how many! I rather see two movies with all the detail of the book than see one movie where they put like everything in fast forward and that's it. Melissa better put a lot of effort here and make a great job because this is the final product and they need to make the best of it. Most important I just want to see Breaking Dawn...don't care how many! I just want it to be real and confirm by Summit!!
ReplyDeleteI mean would it really be that bad if Breaking Dawn was one movie that was 2-2 1/2 hours long? Personally, I wouldn't mind sitting there for that long watching it. I love the fact that Edward and Bella get married and have a baby and live happily ever after. Who wouldn't want to see that? They can also do a Part 1 and a Part 2 but do it "together" and release it "together". There doesn't have to be a lapse in between the movies.
ReplyDeleteTwo movies will be great ! I don't want to miss out on things that would be squashed together if there was 1 movie! The book has enough content and for 2 and i really wanna see 2....
ReplyDeleteThink about it...What will we do when breaking dawn is over ??? How will we go on ?
If it's made into 2 then we have another BD movie to look forward to...YAYYY!!!!
One or two films is okay as long as the hire a brilliant screenwriter, director, cinematographer, editor...just hire a brilliant film crew, ok?
ReplyDeleteYou know, it urked the living crap out of me that Jacob got a pov rather then Edward. Edwards pov is soooooo much more interesting then Jakes! I hope like hell we dont have to endure an entire movie in Jacob Blacks head only to return to Bellas whiney pov.
ReplyDeletei think one movie would be better, as long as they dont throw it together, but instead put effort into it!i mean i no the book is like 700 pages(definately more)but still!all they want is more$$$$$!so i dont give a dang about how long the movie is!i'll watch it if its 4 hours long for cryin out loud!
ReplyDeletei'm a big twilight fan (books and film). i love visiting this site by the way. but please NO BREAKING DAWN 1 or 2!
