I really don't like that the campaign for New Moon is based all on Jacob/Bella. I mean I know that majority of the book is about these two, but they're making it seem like Bella has moved on really fast after Edward's leave and now she's fallin for Jacob and is going to live happily-ever-after with him. And we all know it wasn't like that.
Any moment now, there will be a string of "Hate this 'Jacob/Bella' promo stuff" comments. And I ask Why?Why do fans get so upset, about the telling of Stephenie's story? Why? Please, why?Did you read Stephenie's books? Why wouldn't Chris shoot 'NM' as Stephenie wrote it? 'Bella' was pulled out of near zombie-hood, by 'Jacob's' friendship and his being her 'personal sun.' Remember? And 'Bella' let 'Jacob' fall deeper into love with her, because she needed him. 'Bella' was not just an innocent victim of this 'triangle thing.'What does promoting the written story line, in the film, take away from Stephenie's ending of her story line? What does promoting the written story line, in the film, take away from the real life experiences of Kristen, or Edward, or Taylor?IT'S A FILM, folks. A book. And a film. :-)
'anetaa' wrote: "they're making it seem like Bella has moved on really fast after Edward's leave..."It's a couple of hours long film. Which has to tell the _whole_ of Stephenie's long book. Common sense says that Chris had to sort of 'speed things up.' But if you read the book, you know the long way it went. [and personally, I don't care about how non-book-readers perceive it] 'anettaa' wrote: "...and now she's fallin for Jacob and is going to live happily-ever-after with him."IF you read the books, you know how it works out. :-) And to repeat, personally, I don't care about how non-book-readers perceive it. :-)It's a film, folks. It's the promotion of a film. Let's all lighten up a bit. :-)
Well that's what I'm saying, it's supposed to be friendship. And in the promos it looks like they're gonna jump on each other any second - and I don't like THAT.And I do care how non-book-readers percieve it as Alice's Aunt put it, because most of my friend haven't read the books. And if they liked the Bella/Edward story in the first one and now after seeing the trailer they might not want to see this movie. I'm not saying that they won't see it, but still. But I also understand Alice's Aunt point of view and I'm just presenting mine.
Amen Alice!New Moon is about Bella and Jacob.Like it or not that's what the book was about and therefore that's what the movie will be about.
Wahoo I subscribe to EW im excited to know there will be a New Moon cover coming to my mailbox friday :)
I think they look great together- and this story NM is about her heartbreak and finding a good friend that she knows so well to help heal her. She knows she could be more with Jacob, but she is always holding on the memories of Edward-refusing to let go. I think they(KS and TL) do a fantastic job as actors to portray the struggles of Jacob wanting to be more than friends and Bella wanting that, but then always pulling back to her pain/love of Edward.P.S I personally think these guys would make a cute couple in real life- they're already great friends and I think they are closer in ideals/age ect. Don't start rumors now- just a thought!!
Thanks, Alice'sAunt!! In the book, there ARE times that "it looks like they're gonna jump on each other at any second." That's the way their relationship plays out! Jacob LOVES Bella. And Bella loves Jacob. Why wouldn't they cuddle, or nearly kiss, or whatever? This book (and movie!!!) IS Jacob and Bella, and how they both grow and change. Of course they're going to promote it that way!...Plus, Taylor is much less tabloid-fodder, so they're probably trying that angle, as well, to keep the RobSten rumors to a minimum.
Did I mention that I can't even see the frakin' video!? 9 out of 10 embedded videos are blocked at work for me!!!!
Kristen said in an interview that 'You will get more Robert Pattinson than expected". And another thing is, you have only seen atleast 10 minutes at the most of the film. How can you judge it when it hasnt even come out yet?
