They talk about how her hair has some red in it when she's out in the sun and it looks like she's in the sun, yet I see NO red - am I just nitpicking? I agree that she should have worn a wig for The Runaways because the mullet was/is HORRIBLE!!

It is so obnoxious that she is fine to chop her hair into a mess for the Runaways (which I'm sure she got paid nothing for but which she thinks is 'acting') and refuses to have extensions for Twilight which she's getting like $10M for. Extensions would fix the whole thing, the studio should just make her get them!

ReplyDeleteYes, the hairline does not look good, but other than that it looks just fine. It could've been way, way worse. And the biggest problem is that we all know it's a wig, that knowing makes it look worse. And it'll look different in the movie than in the pics.
Stop complaining her cutting her hair. I understand completely why she did that and if you would think a bit you would understand it too. It will probably take a year before they'll start shooting BD so her hair will grow.

Absolutely gorgeous, but that wig is just ... creeptastic. I hope the studio reads this blog though and does something about it. Maybe they can do some sort of animated hair during the editing process?
ReplyDeleteLike I said -- I don't think it's terrible -- just weird. If you look at pictures of her side-by-side (New Moon/Twilight vs. this new pic) you can see that it's close color-wise, but much too thick to be her natural hair. And yes, the hairline is all wrong.

Kristen said in a recent interview that her reason for cutting off her hair for The Runaways was to get "under Joan's skin" and that in order to really become her, she thought it was necessary. Also, she thought a mullet wig over all of her hair would be distracting and feel like a "helmet". Obviously she's a method actor. Some people shave their heads for a role, and let's be honest, knowing K-Stew, she'd do THAT if it were necessary. That's how dedicated she is... also, although Twilight means everything to all of us, these films aren't the only projects she feels passionate about and dedicated to.

It looks to thick at the hairline to even be close to looking like real hair. Now I am afraid that we will all be distracted by her stupid wig instead of focusing on the movie when it comes out. Which is too bad because Eclipse was my favorite book!! Don't get me wrong I am sure the movie will still be great and Kristen will still be good in it but that wig is just HORRIBLE!!!!

Hey, she was surviving for quite a few years making meaningful projects and caring about them before she even signed on to do this. Knowing her personality and how private she is and how it's not so much about the celebrity for her as it is about the substance of her work, I wouldn't be surprised if part of her regreted becoming Bella to begin with. Just watch the poor video of her pumping gas and being harrassed. You don't think she'd go back to the days of The Cake Eaters when she could step out her house without an entourage of security?

ReplyDeleteOK, since no one has freaked yet about the backing out of Twilight comment, let me also say that you know it must be a slow day, and we must be pretty damn hungry to be losing it over a wig. The movie will be amazing. Kristen will be amazing. Who gives a rat's ass about her hairline. She's gorgeous. and the only reason that anyone is micro-analyzing it is because she's looked like a 70s rocker for the last 3 months and no one's used to it. We have to get reaquinted with Bella's Kristen, and not the badass who showed up at Comic-Con. (and finally, yes, she is a "method" actress in that she cares about experiencing what the character experiences and changes herself accordingly. Not getting hung up on which movie she's going to cut her hair off for...and if you think she gives a crap about winning an Ocsar either, you're probably wrong.)

I agree with pretty much 95% of everybody here. The wig is not very becoming. Its sadly reminiscent of Jacob's Twilight wig! WTF Summit?! You have unlimited resources and that's the best you could find? Come on look some more! Heck take Jacob's NM wig and curl it at the ends, perhaps that would look better?! It's the hairline that's bad and the fact that its puffy on top doesn't help either.....

The wig looked fine in the graduation pictures,even if it does look a bit Jacob-esque here, although really, it's not so different from her hair in Twilight, it's just she usually always has a headband on.

ReplyDeleteA good wig counts, if you read the interviews with Taylor you will see how much he had to answer about the bad wig that was used on him in Twilight or how much Rob had to answer in interviews about the lack of continuity in his vampire make up or his bouffant hair, which explains why his hair is shorter for NM and Eclipse.
I expect with the filming and lighting the wig on Kristen will look better, for her own sake, or she will be have to be responding on a lot of her interviews in the feature, about a bad wig which if the fault of the hair and make up department and not hers, just like happened to Rob or Taylor.

The hair sucks, period. Of all the complicated and expensive special effects they produce on film, they can't do something as simple as make a wig look more natural? I want to get lost in the story as a whole, not in the bits and pieces that put it together. It's like watching a dance routine and listening to the dancers count the steps! Call it trivial if you like, but I don't want to be staring at her hairline the entire time she's talking.

Ashley Greene has done many photoshoots with extensions and you can't even tell that she has short hair. Why don't they hire the people that do Ashley Greene's extensions, please, oh please.. ReplyDeleteIt's not just the wig. The clothes the director is having the characters wear is atrocious. What is Bella wearing here? It looks so 80s. And the jacket that Edward was wearing last week during filming was straight out of the movie Grease. This director needs to get with the program. You have to make your actors look BETTER not WORSE. That's his job. Kristen's still beautiful but damn; this director has really bad taste in clothes and wigs.

ReplyDeleteNow they've chosen a wig for her that looks like it came from the discount rack at Wal-Mart. It's monochromatic with no red highlights and the hairline screams "LOOK AT ME - I'M A CHEAP POS WIG!!"
The hairline is straight across her forehead, making her forehead look like a perfectly rectangular billboard. Also the thickness of the hair up top exacerbates the weirdness of the hairline. It's so thick (and cheap) that it doesn't lay right and kind of piles up like a country-western star's "big hair". Not as big as that, but reminiscent of the style.

What the hell are these hairstylists standing around and doing nothing being on set getting paid loads of money if they can't fix a single hairline... Kristen doesn't care how she's gonna look in Eclipse,because simply she doesn't give a shit for Bella and fans.She only cares for "serious"movies,like "the runaways".

ReplyDeleteShut the hell up and stop moaning...Its not kristen stewart who decided to cut all her hair off and use a bad wig, she HAD to for runaways, and the costume department is responsible for that monstrosity so leave her be.
ReplyDeleteShe did not HAVE to cut her hair for runaways! Who told you that? Actresses routinely keep their hair long for roles and wear short wigs because it takes so long to grow their hair back. If Joan Jett folks wanted her for runaways, I'm sure they would've been amenable to a wig, since that black mullet looked like a wig anyway. Besides, who is going to watch runaways except to see Kristen Stewart? And Joan Jett's hair is fugly: it was then and it is now. So what they did to her hair for runaways is a crime. A studio should know better. It's just wrong. It's a cruel joke. Especially since they knew she had more Twilight movies, where she's expected to look like a pretty girl not lesbian Joan Jett. (Makes me wonder whether Joan herself suggested she cut it.) And nobody is picking on Kristen; if you read the posts above, you'll see that we all think she's lovely and beautiful, in spite of the f-ed up hair. And yes that horrible wig on her head is a monstrosity.

ReplyDeleteWow hwer wig really needs to be fixed!!! I loved her hair in the first movie!! The reason she cut it was cause of rob! HE left her crying and in tears!!! Its his fault!
