Ashley and Kellan no-show at Twi Convention

Life and Style magazine reports:

Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz have pulled out of a scheduled appearance at an official New Jersey Twilight convention this weekend...

The Twilight stars were scheduled to appear during the three-day convention for fans of the series, but they were abruptly removed from the lineup on the convention's Web site yesterday...

"Ashley and Kellan had to pull out of appearing at the convention due to a change in their schedules," a publicist for the event told Life & Style.

Creation Entertainment, who is sponsoring the event, is refunding the special tickets that gave fans a chance to take pictures or get autographs from Ashley and Kellan, which fans purchased separately from the general tickets.

I don't know who else is still going to the event but I'm assuming most cast members will also be busy with shooting Eclipse for the convention... that's a lot of cash to maybe not get your money's worth!

Thanks Just Jared Jnr for the pic

  2. I have to admit...I'm a little bitter. At the beginning, when my friend and I bought the tix, it was Jackson, Ashley, and Kellan. We figured we'd at least get to meet one or two of them if someone had to cancel. Now, two days before the convention, they've all cancelled.

Don't get me wrong, I am happy to meet Edi, Christian, Catherine, and members of the Wolfpack....but all in all, the situation sucks.

  3. This is what happened to us in Phoenix a few weeks ago. We were supposed to get Kellan, Ashley, Jackson, Billy Burke and Mike Welch. The only one from the orig. list that showed was Mike. And they're Non-refundable tickets...

It was a lot of fun, and the wolf pack guys are HAWT in person. I was dissapointed at first but it turned out to be a lot of fun.

  4. If I forked over major money for the gold level tickets (we're talking $250 as opposed to like $40 general admission) so that I could gain special access to Kellan, I'd be spitting nails mad if he got pulled from the lineup.

It's a catch 22...you have to buy the tickets ahead of time so you don't miss out, but they're nonrefundable...even if all the big names pull out.

    Grr...

  5. They should just wait and have the conventions in between filming.

They were supposed to have a convention in Denver, CO. When I went back on the site to buy tickets, they had pulled the entire convention from Denver! argh!!!

  6. I am super bummed they got replaced at the last minute! I'm glad they added Catherine because she always gives good gossip, but the loss of Jackson/Kellan/Ashley, and then the quick add then two-day-later removal of Christian is sad! I'm going to go do what I do to comfort myself... eat something. Maybe go into queens for greasy food and/or fruit tea lol

  7. I'm really upset about this. The entire line up of stars that was originally scheduled to appear: Ashley,Kellan,Jackson,Bill and Mike have now canceled. I understand that one or two stars might have to pull out but this is ridicules. I spent a lot of money and really don't care about the people that are now appearing. What a disappointment.

  8. I feel sooooo bad for those who purchased tix for this event..more so for the "Gold" holders. I live about 15 mins west of the this convention and did not purchase tix after reading simular stories of these types of events (also..the costume party kind of freaked me out a bit!!) I agree w/the above anon poster, it's one thing if one or two stars cxl...but 5??? That is ridicules!! They should re-schedule it or refund peoples money, even though it is stated "non-refundable". If they do not....I would start a boycott (sp?) of future convention dates or sling some major mud at the company who runs it! Good luck either way...to those who go..hope u have fun! (((hugggssss to all))) Acey

  9. If I was a fan in this situation, I would be upset too, But I'd be thankful for the actors who could make it, and I'd rather have the others film the movie(s), than be at a convetion any day.

And be especially thankful that you get to attend one at all! I live in Oregon, and ours got cancelled all together!

  10. I live in NJ but it was too far. If Robert was going I would have gotten the tickets but I'm glad I didn't in the end because I would have missed out anyways.

  11. That's a major bummer - I know it's been sold out for a while... Nobody wants to see filming for Eclipse interrupted (hells no!) but it would have been nice if the conventions had worked around that schedule more successfully. I'm sure everyone will still have fun, but it's not going to be quite the same...

  12. This has been happening a lot with these conventions. This happened with the Minneapolis convention as well. Kellan, Ashley, Jackson, Peter Facinelli, Billy Burke, and Mike Welsh were all originally scheduled to attend. They all cancelled except Peter. Creation said it was the first time that had happened and they booked Catherine, Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelltier, Edi, and Christian instead. It was still a lot of fun, but disappointing so many cancelled. Kellan was also supposed to appear at another event later in August not far from where I live, but he cancelled on that one too. You know when you buy the tickets that they are not refundable and that the stars may cancel, so you take a chance. As the actors become more popular and are in higher demand I think you can expect this to continue to happen on a regular basis. It sucks though. I thought maybe after it became the official twilight convention that the stars wouldn't cancel as much, but I guess that hasn't changed, although it isn't very smart to hold one of these conventions when they are shooting a new twilight movie and filming will probably conflict.

  13. Bollocks! The tickets should be refundable then.

  14. I would be seriously pissed if I had gone to this. Snarkier Than You and I contemplated it but the tickets were really pricey. If I forked over that money only to have folks bail... it wouldn't be pretty, that's all I'm saying.

  15. We had 3 preferred tickets to the parsippany show and when we saw the guest list changing so drastically we sent an email off to creation. They are refunding our tickets.

  16. I am very sad about this - sniffle sniffle! My friend and I will be driving all the way from Buffalo to NJ to attend and had tickets for photos with Kellan and Ashley. We are still going and will hope to turn in our photo op tickets for a wolfpack picture! Which will be very cool but I wanted to make a Kellan sandwich! If anybody is going and wants to meet up check my blog for my email info www.twi-star.blogspot.com

  17. Yeah, I didn't buy tickets to next years convention because its just too much money with NO guarantee any of the stars you want to see will show up.
CREATION ENTERTAINMENT runs these conventions and they are now teaming up with Summit to have the "Official Twilight Conventions". I wish Summit wouldn't have partnered with them. hopefully they can guarantee the stars will show up at these things more often.
