In chapter 20, "Compromise," Bella finally agrees to marry Edward after a long discussion about demands, immortality, and the losing of one's virtue. Fans were ecstatic when Bella finally answered their prayers and committed herself to Edward — their only question was, what on earth took her so long?
I couldn't agree more! "Temper" is BY FAR my favorite chapter in Eclipse, Top 3 in the whole saga. YES TO LEG HITCH!

ReplyDeleteYes PLEASE give us some more steamy scenes like the leg hitch and the scene where Bella tells Edward the "grizzly bear wrath is nothing compared to whats in store for him when he gets home", or the scene where he asks her to stop trying to take off her clothes, or the meadow scene when she finally accepts Edward and he tries to "have" her right then and there, Whew!!!.... ...*sweating*...o.k. me need cold shower

I have to confess my favorite chapter was "Fire and Ice", can't wait for that conversation between Edward and Jacob!! That's gonna be priceless!
But leg hitch.. we need that!

ReplyDeleteI'm loaning my eclipse book to one of my friends so I can't look it up. But isn't this the scene where Bella's in Edward's room on a huge bed, in pitch darkness? And Edward comes in and surpises her. But I don't remember where he was previously. Does anyone remember?
ReplyDeleteLove the leg hitch bit--my copy of Eclipse has little tears in the edges of the pages on p.186 from re-vamping. I love everything about it--reaching for him in the darkness on the big bed of love....TCA you are spot on girl.

ReplyDeleteOMG! Yes Yes Yes! That definately can't be left out! Although they consumate their marriage in BD, this 'leg hitch' scene is probably the hottest, detailed scene in the series. After Edward hitches Bella's leg around him, doesn't Edward pull Bella on top of him? OME OME OME!!! And the dialoge between them in this scene is very cute.

ReplyDeleteOk, ya...definitely HAVE to have the leg hitch scene in there! It is my favorite part by far and we would all be so upset if it wasn't in there! This scene is the one of the main reasons I re-read this book over and over again!! Also the part where she spends the night with him at his house why all the others are out getting ready for the fight.

ReplyDeleteI also love the meadow scene at the end where he gives up and tries to forfill Bellas conditions, and she says no. I love it when he rolls on his back, chagrined and tells her, "You know where to find me if you change your mind." I LOVE that! Horn dog Edward, LOL!
(I think Jake is taking advantage of a sleeping Bella, and Im shocked Edward didnt KILL him in that scene. Jakes practically dry humping her while she's asleep...uh, gross!)
I agree with everyone about Compromise. My favorite chapter in the whole entire series. If its not in Eclipse it will NOT be complete.
ReplyDeleteHA,HA,HA...Kerri, you are so funny, I love the Horndog Edward comment cuz we all know he's got a serious case of blue balls after a hundred plus years of celibicy, lol! And yes, the sexual tension is freakin off the charts in Eclipse and Stephanie Meyer does a good job at making us all horny while reading these parts, she knows what she's doing. AAARGGG!! Just picturing that scene on the movie screen, OOOOO, now I need a cold shower to cool myself off before I spontaneously combust too!!

LOL leg-hitching scene, honey moon night, but i like the part where edward caves and agrees to Bella idea...he places her hands on a pillow...and well u know the rest. I nearly bit my lip off when i was reading this, also i hope they keep the meadow scene at the end of eclipse. Edward says " I love you. I want you right now." *shivers*

You have to appreciate the fact that even though it's sexy, they still wait to have sex until after they are married. Knowing how many young people are out there reading these books... I think it was awesome of Stephenie Meyer to keep things steamy, without "going all the way". I thought that was really cool. You CAN be young and in love, and not ruin it all (like I did). You can never get that back.
