Is this Robert's Italian Body Double?? + Montepulciano Filming Deets

That's what TwilightItalia tells me!! Shire translates for us:
Apparently the body double of Robert Pattinson for the Italian shootings in Montepulciano was finally chosen (the guy posting in the indicated blog is a journalist) and you'll find a youtube video of the guy (whose name is Alan Cappelli), who is the protagonist of an Italian tv commercial running on most tv channels these days.

One guy of our staff was also chosen as a walk-on actor for the shootings, we're thrilled!

And a hearsay from Italy: it seems like they're going to shoot one scene inside a building, and probably it's going to be the one when some tourists get trapped (and killed) into the Volturi palace.

For the square scene, it's also rumored that there's going to be something like 1500 walk-on actors involved. Initially, the company that's managing the casting decided to choose just 500 people, later increasing that number to 800: now, rumors are indicating 1500 people as the final recruiting number.
Check out the body-double story at TwilightItalia and learn more about Montepulciano filming details here (if you can read Italian). Thanks, Shire!

  1. Why does Rob need a body double in Italy? The *throwing Rob around by the Vulturi* scenes were already filmed in Vancouver, so, why would he need a body double there?

  3. I don't understand....does that mean we'll see shirtless "Rob", but we'll see this guys torso instead because Rob isn't muscly enough? Oh man, if that's the case it's so lame, and why did they have to publish that xD
    I am totally confused hahaha...

  4. Someone from another site answered my question saying that, the double is just a stand in for when they are setting up the scenes and what not. The double needs to be pretty close their size, so they can get the lighting right and all; they aren't actually filmed. I thought that sounded like that's what they're for. :)

  5. I hope its just for that. I want to see a shirtless rob or at least with his shirt open.

  7. I so hope it's just for setting up the scenes. It needs to be Rob, not a body double. I don't know if Edward with his shirt open would have the same effect as Edward shirtless...I hope they don't change that part of the story. I mean, the drama of the light of his whole chest and back would certainly be more than just the little bit of his belly and chest that would be shown with an open shirt. It has to seem like he's trying to make sure the Volturi have no choice but to kill him.

  8. There's a big difference between a "body double" and a "stand-in." A body double is just that. You'd see that other person's body parts in place of the star's. A stand-in is the one whom they use when setting up shots, etc. and has to be about the same size as the star.

  10. People are going to get really upset if it's not Rob. In the first movie there's a scene with him standing in tha sun "sparkling" haha. During tha comentary they were sayng how they ment to put a fake 6 pack on him. I disagree. He looks perfect shirt or no shirt. There is no need for a "body double".
