Happy Birthday to 'The Host'

Ahh, has it really been one year since The Host came out? Time flies! You can learn more about The Host here and read Seth's post about this on Stepheniemeyer.com.

  3. I read it. It was good, but honestly I didn't enjoy it as much as Twilight.

I thought it should have had more romance being that was the only thing Twilight lacked (due to the target age group) and this was suppose to be her Adult Novel. But, it didn't really. It was good read and if you are an avid reader, it would be a good choice.

  4. Thanks ladies! I've got to pick it up! I feel you though. Nothing sucks me in quite like a bit of romance.

  5. There wasn't any romance that I felt attached to at all in that book. It was a good read but forever long, way long. I left it feeling a little disappointed. Almost no pay off.

  6. I really have no desire to read "The Host". I just wish that Stephanie Meyer would write a fifth Twilight Book, besides Midnight Sun. I don't want to spoil anything for those who have not read all four books, but for those of us who have, we know that she left open a big avenue to continue the saga. As for the romance department, ya I felt pretty jipped there. I kind of felt like someone had played a mean joke on me or something. Lol...Either way, I still love Twilight.

  10. Not interested. I've heard nothing but negative opinions from others who have read it. Then again Twilight is a hard act to follow.

  11. It was ok. I liked it. I wouldn't read it over and over again like I did the Twilight series. Speaking of books has anybody read any good ones lately. They don't have to be vampire books but I would like one with a nice love story. I just finished reading the Mortal Instruments series (City of Bones, City of Ash, and City of Glass) I really liked them (but I hated the crazy twist in the end, if you've read them you know what I mean) anyway if anyone has some recommendations that would be great.

  12. I bought The Host after I finished all the Twilight books. In all, it was a good book. But I wouldn't read it again either. Twilight is really a hard act to follow. Its so addictive that you'd (me) rather stay inside on a nice day. I decided to read The Host in hopes of finding something a little more adult since it is an adult novel. But there was nothing ADULT in there, (maybe I'm a perv) but I just wanted some good loves scenes. Even in Breaking Dawn I was a little dissapointed to find that their consumation wasn't even really described. I just wanted a little detail nothing dirty, just some detail in good taste of course.
