MovieMistakes breaks down all the visual snafus that were made during Twilight.Did you catch these? I noticed the nose tubes sliding up and down Bella's face, but missed the others. My biggest peeve is actually not included here -- the scene with Charlie and Bella at the Cafe, where she shakes that ketchup bottle from side to side but no ketchup ever comes out. You gotta squeeze it, Bella! Sad that I notice these things. heh.

The biggest one I noticed is that in the garage, when the Cullen's are preparing to take Bella to safety, Edward closes the trunk of the car twice.
ReplyDeleteThe one that always continues to irritate when I watch the movie is when Bella and Edward arrive at the police station. She had her purse going into the restaurant so why isn't she carrying with it her when she leaves Edward's car? Did she leave it at the restaurant or in Edward's car? Perhaps Edward's goal the whole time was to dazzle her so that he could swipe her purse. . .perhaps that's how the Cullens got rich! The Cullens: Dazzling Theives!

ReplyDeleteMy biggest one is at the baseball game when Kristen's wasn't available alot so it's either obviously Katie or she's just not there at all!
What about the scene where Edward and Bella are sitting under a tree talking and it's raining. Edward isn't wearing a coat and gets soaked. In the very next scene, he is dry again and wearing his grey pea coat.

When Dream!Edward is biting Dream!Bella, his head is practically upsidedown. When he looks up, the blood trail is leading down his chin...
One of my biggest peeves is the scene where he's getting wet and Bella's not. Then just moments after that he's dry with his coat back on. I have joked that I loved the Vampires have their own drying system and hair gel that immediately drys them and their hair is perfect again.

Him sleeping and changing head position (it's common for people to move when they sleep) and they said that's one of the things Vamps have to be aware of ( in the books anyway). They have to fidget to make it look real because they could stand perfectly still for hours. Just sayin...
I notice that when there in the cullen's garage running getting ready to seperate and Edward asks Esme and Rosalie to put on Bella's clothes but.. Esme isn't even in that scene lol you never actually see her lol

ReplyDeleteThe part when Billy and Jacob drive up to Bella's house and pass Edward on the road...Billy is DRIVING, then Jacob has to get the wheel chair and get him out of the truck. How ya driving that truck Billy if you can't move your legs?!!!

ReplyDeleteThe driving scenes drive me crazy. Kristen did a great job of conveying the fear Bella has when he drives, but if you look out Edwards window, the car is barely moving. When he jumps in her truck after Bella leaves Charlie, not a hair out of place. Silly mistakes that should've been caught. I guess I should blame the budget and not the director. New Moon will be better.
ReplyDeleteWhat I found interesting and kinda silly is when Edward is driving Bella in the truck, and she is telling him her dad will never forgive her for saying that, the headlights of the truck seem to be facing to the side of the road. Almost as if they were facing backwards to light up the side of the truck. Really hard to explain, but i have never owned a vehicle that did that. LOL
ReplyDelete: In the scene where Bella is being cornered by the four men in the dark alley, there is another man behind them on some sort of ramp. He is holding a camera, and in the next shot, he isn’t there.
ReplyDeleteWhen Bella is walking out of her house while talking with Charlie on the first icy morning, before she slips on the ice you can see under her jeans that she is wearing knee pads, and you can see them again once she stands up after falling.
When Bella is sitting with Edward near the lake asking his questions about his family and whether they have abilities like Edward’s mind-reading, her woolen mittens jump from her hands to her lap.

I'm pretty sure when Bella and Edward race away from the creeps in Port Angeles that Edward's volvo has an Oregon license plate. So much for trying to blend in...

ReplyDeleteThat is NOT a mistake. Those scenes are different because they are meant to show the passage of time. Those shots are supposed to be from different days. It says in the commentary that Bella was supposed to be getting wet too, but the rain cover they built there didn't work as they had planned.
Does she not squeeze ketchup out in the extended version of the scene? If not, they probably did it that way so they could use the same plate every take.
The driving thing was funny. They talked about that in the commentary. How she tells him to slow down but if you look at the window you see he's going like 2 miles an hour.
All I have to say, is Im glad I'm not the only one who noticed the ketchup bottle. It drives me nuts every single time!

ReplyDeleteOk, wait, one other thing. A lot of people are commenting about the mistakes with wardrobe in the scene in the rain. I don't think this is a mistake. I read somewhere (and believe it to be true) that the conversation is supposed to appear to be stretched out over several days to show Edward and Bella taking the time to get to know each other. If you'll notice, Edward isn't just suddenly wet then dry and not wearing the peacoat then wearing it...Bella's clothes and hair change too. I know the conversation seems like it's just one scene, but it's really supposed to be several days. To me, the clothes changing makes sense and is not a mistake.

ReplyDeleteI noticed the purse that she left in Edward's car and next she uses the book she put in her bag. The ketchup seen in fact has ketchup! I noticed at first that she shakes the bottle but there's ketchup in one side with the fries.

About the Ketchup: Bella shakes the bottle after she has already squeezed the Ketchup out. I guess that is her way of avoiding drips. It drove me crazy too the first time I saw it, but the second time I guess I was paying more attention or something. Take a closer look.

ReplyDeleteit says clearly in the book that they make no sound when they walk but you can hear alice jump from the window in esme,s kitchen and her walking toward bella in the same scene..
Also when emmet jump on to bella's truck there is a lot of noice which should not be there..
The mistake that bothers me is.............
ReplyDeleteIn the scene were Edward saves Bella from being crushed by Tyler's van, the other Cullen's and their cars are there and then they show the whole parking lot and the cars and the Cullens are gone. Then they all reappear.
The mistake the bugs me the most is when they are at the police station talking to Carlisle and you can clearly see Edwar and Carlisle's breath. They are cold, they shouldn't have warm breath. And in the DVD commentaries, Catherine even says she noticed it. Then why didn't you fix it in editing!?
