Demography of TwiCrack Addicts: Examiner Explores TwiMoms & TwiGuys

One of the reasons that I'm a closeted TwiCrack Addict is that Twilight fandom is most often associated with Tweens, and I would feel a bit ridiculous telling my graduate school friends that rather than perusing the Economist at night, I fall asleep revamping the adventures of a 17-year old girl and her Vampire Romeo. I think I would *die* a little bit if my teenage cousins realized that their old fart relative secretly runs this blog on the side.

Well, the Twilight Examiner acknowledges us Twilight Fandom outliers, including moms & career women who dig Twilight, as well as men. Maybe I'll crawl out of my closet soon. Maybe.
"While the Tween demographic might be the most obviously prevalent of the out-going Twilight fans, they are certainly not alone. While critics might suggest that there is only one type of fan of the series, I beg to differ. The fan-base of the Twilight series is quite expansive and diverse."
Yes we are expansive & diverse! Read the rest of the article here.

  1. Diverse we are!!! I am 25, married with 1 child and also work full time!!! Really quite removed from the tween section of society I would say!!

  2. I totally agree with the previous comment!!! Add 1 yr. in age and college to the mix and you will have me. My friends still laugh at my face for even trying to discuss twilight with them. Maybe I will ALWAYS be a closet twilighter.:(

  3. From one closeted adult fan, hooray!! It's about time the world realized we're not all 13 year-old girls.

  4. So true.

What is sad, though, is that in my country every single 13 year old loves Twilight just because, wich is quite annoying for us, adult fans.

  5. I am 38 year old mom and attorney and I absolutely love the series...obsessed is really the word. It brings me back to the first time I fell in love or the first time that I had butterflys in my stomach for someone. I also have never been in love with a literary character before I met Edward :)

  7. Oh thank goodness... I was so happy to read this. I too am a Graduate student and part of me squirms just a bit when the screen saver on my laptop comes on in class. I have never tried to hide the fact that I am also a TwiCrack Addict, but I don't shout it from the roof tops like my screen saver has a tendency to do. It is always nice to hear about other actual ADULTS who love Twilight the way I do!
