"New Moon" Casting for Native Americans has begun; Are they really re-casting Sam Uley?

Lana Veenker over at the CastingScoop has announced that casting for Native American roles has begun, and they want to hear from everyone who fits the qualifications of the roles:
Casting Director René Haynes and her staff are very happy to accommodate any Native teens and young adults (who look very youthful) who are interested in sending them an audition.

First thing to do if you fit the specs is to email a recent photo and your contact information to: info@rhcasting.com.

They are not currently seeking submissions for any roles other than the ones mentioned here, so only respond if you meet the above requirements."
Also, if you never checked out photographer Amy Howe's photos of Solomon Trimble who played Sam Uley in Twilight Movie, you really should visit her site and check them out!
P.S. I'm a little confused about the casting for Sam Uley. Based on the New Moon Casting Call list and the fact that script sides for Sam are out, it seems that the role of Sam is up for grabs...
