Breaking Dawn May Start Production Right After Eclipse

e!Online shares details on Breaking Dawn from Billy Burke and Ashley Greene:

"All I know is that, as of now, I only signed on to do three," B.B. told us. Coyly played Billy. Maybe he's just trying to keep all Twi dirt on the down-low, or it could be that the secondary castmembers haven't started negotiations. Rob and Kristen Stewart are locked in (after so much drama you have no idea—but you're not interested in that, right?), so that's all that matters.

But Breaking Dawn isn't exactly as far away as you all would think.

"We're going to start right after Eclipse," says Ash.

That doesn't come as surprise to us, as we exclusively told you how Summit would be pumping out this franchise as fast as possible to avoid any "bumps" in the road.

So will we see any repeat directors for the fourth film?

"I don't think so," says Ms. Greene. "[Eclipse director] David [Slade] and [New Moon director] Chris [Weitz] will both be busy in postproduction, and Catherine [Hardwicke] will be doing Hamlet."

Have You Been Bitten? NY Times Explores the Vampire Bug

I can't believe it, it's finally happened.

I've been largely hiding my second-life as a TwiCrack Addict from my real-world friends, because I'm semi-embarrassed to be *this* obsessed with a fictional teenage undead creature.

However, this morning, I get an email entitled, "Am I in Forks, WA?" from one of my BFFs, who *finally* succumbed and read Twilight and has now discovered how dazzling Edward Cullen really is. Moreover, she supplied me with TwiCrack and sent me a link to this interesting NY Times article on the Vampire trend, excerpted here:

“The vampire is the new James Dean,” said Julie Plec, the writer and executive producer of “The Vampire Diaries,” a forthcoming series on the CW network based on the popular L. J. Smith novels about high school femmes and hommes fatales. “There is something so still and sexy about these young erotic predators,” she said.

This generation of undead prowls high school hallways and dimly lighted dance clubs as menacing — and as seductive — as they have ever been. The June premiere of the second season of “True Blood,” in which Sookie, played by Anna Paquin, is reunited with her imperious fanged suitor, drew 3.4 million viewers, making it HBO’s most-watched program since the “Sopranos” finale in 2007.

Charlaine Harris has just published “Dead and Gone,” the ninth novel in her Sookie Stackhouse series, variations on Southern Gothic fiction on which “True Blood” is based. The publishing world has been intrigued by “The Strain,” a first installment in a planned trilogy written by the film director Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan, about bloodthirsty predators run amok in Manhattan.

The style world, too, has come under the vampire’s spell, in the shape of the gorgeous leather- and lace-clad night crawlers who have crept into the pages of fashion glossies.

Vampires, of course, are part of a hoary tradition that harks back to Nosferatu and Bram Stoker’s “Dracula” at least. Anne Rice updated the genre, introducing the ghoulishly aristocratic vampire Lestat. But the undead are returning with a vengeance, in part because they “personify real-world anxieties,” said Michael Dylan Foster, an assistant professor in the department of folklore at Indiana University in Bloomington.

“Especially during these post-9/11 times of increased vigilance, representations like the ‘Twilight’ series reflect a kind of conspiracy-theory mentality, a fear that there is something secret and dangerous going on in our own community, right under our noses.”

Given all that baggage, what keeps vampires so alluring?

One might point to their combination of deathless good looks and decadent sexuality. Their faces, as described in “Twilight,” “were all devastatingly, inhumanly beautiful. They were faces you never expected to see except perhaps on the airbrushed pages of a fashion magazine.”
Ah, the NY Times tries to validate and dissect our irrational love of Edward Cullen by putting it in the context of a vampire obsession. Heh.

Mikey Welch Dishes on How Edward Got More Screen Time in New Moon

"They figured out a very clever way to get Edward back in the film much more than he is in the book," revealed "Twilight" series star Michael Welch when he stopped by the MTV studios recently, acknowledging that Weitz and screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg have devised a plan to work around the "New Moon" plot — which has Edward breaking up with Bella (Kristen Stewart) early in the story and fleeing to Italy. "It's more of, like, a hallucination kind of thing."
Read about it at MTV.

RPattz All Scratched-up Again on Set Today After Night Out at Webster Hall

See more pics of bruised Robert Pattinson on the set today at Socialite Life.

Also, NYPost offers deets on RPattz's night out unnoticed at Webster Hall:
MEGA-hot "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson managed to avoid a frenzy for once. On Monday night the actor, who's usually swarmed by fang-loving fans, went to Webster Hall "with a pack of guys," according to our source, to check out the band Jump Into the Gospel. "He was totally normal and just hanging out, wearing a baseball cap. Nobody noticed him or made a fuss at all," said the witness.
Ooh. Webster Hall is a fun venue. I saw Duran Duran there a few years ago. I am a closeted Duran Duran freak; To my husband's *chagrin*, I made the DJ play 'Hungry Like The Wolf' at our wedding. Shh.

RPattz's Auntie Spills Silliness to Life&Style

Digital Spy shares silly gossip from Life & Style, which allegedly interviewed Robert's aunt:

Speaking to Life & Style, his aunt Diana Nutley said: "I don't think it would be a good idea for Robert to be in a serious relationship with Kristen.

"How can he live his life with a fellow star, with their every move being watched just like Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes?"

Nutley, who is the sister of Pattinson's mother, added: "He's only 23 and probably won't get married until he's 40, if he's got any sense... I think he will eventually come back home to England and fall in love with somebody he's known since school."

Is this the same auntie who shared Robert's baby pictures with the world? Meh.

Anyhoo, I don't have much faith in these tabloids, but if it's true, why is this auntie blabbing to the rag mags?

Thanks, Joel!

Souson attended Peter Facinelli's signing at Affliction the other day, and witnessed Rob DeFranco's bikini dance, which he was forced to do after losing a Twitter bet to Peter. Souson shares her pics and experience:
My friend and I had so much fun today. Peter with his family is the cutest thing ever. He randomly kisses his wife and kids during the event which is so sweet. Fans were surrounding him for pictures and he grabs his wife, hugs her and says how about one with my wife...very cute. Rob D is such a good sport and did a great job dancing today. I luv Twilight events. Congrats to Rebecca Cohn for winning Peter's chair back!

Joan Jett's Tough Love

Pic from e!online

NY Daily News reports on Joan Jett:

The rocker gave Kristen Stewart, who plays a young Jett in the upcoming biopic “The Runaways,” a hard time last week, causing the young starlet to burst into tears on set.

Says an insider, “Joan just wants Kristen to play an authentic version of herself, so she needled her a little bit too much. But she apologized when she realized how upset Kristen got.”

At least there’s no bad blood between the two. Says our insider, “They’re like mother and daughter now.”

Dunno if this is true, but if it is...aww...

Excellent New Moon Interview with 'Franchise Whore' Jamie Campbell Bower

Digital Spy has a great interview with Jamie Campbell Bower, where he talks about New Moon co-stars Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Michael Sheen, as well as his role as Gellert Grindelwald in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows. Click on pic or here to watch video.
Jamie Campbell Bower has joked that he is a "franchise whore" after signing on for both the Twilight saga and the Harry Potter series.

The actor, who plays Caius in vampire sequel New Moon, told DS at last night's UK premiere of Public Enemies that it was "weird" experiencing the hysteria surrounding co-star Robert Pattinson.

"Rob's genuinely just a normal guy. It was weird being around it all because we couldn't go out to dinner because there would be 40 paparazzi and screaming girls waiting for Rob," he explained.

He added that the movie "looked awesome" and praised director Chris Weitz for doing "a really fantastic job".
Thanks, Joel!

Summer School in Forks Symposium

MTV's Larry Carroll shares a report from Summer School in Forks:
After all the time that I've spent covering the "Twilight" beat for MTV, I was extremely honored to be asked to attend Summer School in Forks: A "Twilight" Symposium, a real-life fan event that allowed Twilighters to attend classes, go to a prom and enjoy field trips around the real-life town that Meyer immortalized by making it home to her beloved characters.
Sigh. I still miss larry's Twilight Tuesdays! Read the rest at MTV.

The ENTIRE cast was incredibly sweet, especially Gil Birmingham and Ashley Greene, they were so appreciative with fans and they looked so amazing in person! Taylor Lautner was in attendance as well although his publicist and security team didn't allow any pics of him or with him. But nonetheless everyone looked amazing and I am so happy that they were nice and sweet in person! :)

Luna Twilight Lipstick & Volturi Mascara: More Twilight-Inspired Make-Up

StyleList got a sneak-peek at more of DuWop's soon-to-be-launched Twilight-inspired products, in addition to Lip Venom V:
LunaTwilight is the more luxurious of the two offerings -- the packaging is heartbreakingly gorgeous and the formulas are more sophisticated than the alternate collection.

I hate to tease you with some of the the product names before they're available, but let's be honest, I can't help myself and you can't wait: "First Light Body Glow," "Mortal Glow Blushing Creme" and Color Palettes in "Bella," "Rosalie," "Alice" and "Victoria."
Also, check out the Volturi mascara:
The Volturi family crest appears on the packaging and some standouts include "Deity Body Lotion," "Immortal Body Shimmer" and "Crown Mascara".

Everything I've seen can only be described as elegant and wicked.

Twilight Beauty will be available on its own site: TwilightBeauty.com, which isn't live yet and an official launch date for the products has not been announced (though, it looks like it will be timed around the movie's release), so stay tuned.

Cafe Cora, Young Bella & Sam Uley (No. 1) Interview: Solomon Harbors No Hard Feelings Towards Chaske Spencer

OregonLive.com interviews three Portland-based Twilight actors about their movie experience, including Ayanna Berkshire (Cora), Catherine Grimme (Young Bella), and Solomon Trimble, who had the following to say about losing the role of Sam Uley:
"I don't reprise my role in 'New Moon.' They replaced me with another actor, Chaske Spencer. I know him, he's really good, I have no problems with him whatsoever. (Sam) ends up being the leader of the wolf pack for the next two books. If I was replaced with a non-Native person, I would be, like, down there at the gates of Summit Entertainment (the company behind the "Twilight" movies) saying, 'This is injustice.' "

Face Punch: Movie that Mike, Bella & Jacob Watch During 3-Way Date

Face Punch now playing at a theater in Forks :-)

Mike Welch offers MTV details behind the filming of Bella, Jacob and Mike's 'Date' in New Moon:

Welch stopped by the MTV studios to discuss such far-ranging topics as his concern for Robert Pattinson's safety and the "three-way date," a scene that has Bella, Mike and Jacob at a movie theater, watching a horror film. But, in the grand tradition of such films as "The Player," "Bowfinger" and "The Purple Rose of Cairo," director Weitz is inserting his own mini "movie within a movie" into the mix.

"The film is called 'Face Punch,' " revealed Welch, telling us about the tongue-in-cheek movie that Bella, Mike and Taylor will be seen watching on the big screen. "It's an action film."

When the cast of "New Moon" began planning out the pivotal date scene, they got a laugh out of some of the silly, fictional action-movie names that Weitz and his crew had assembled. But in the end, "Face Punch" was the winner.

"We started out with a few other comical names, but it turned out those were actual films so we couldn't use those titles," Welch laughed. "I forget the first few titles, but it was like 'Crazy Explosion' — and it turns out, there actually was a 'Crazy Explosion.' "

"Chris came up with the title," he continued. "And apparently there is no 'Face Punch' that we know of."

And although Welch and the other "New Moon" stars weren't able to watch "Face Punch" while they shot their scenes inside the movie theater (they were repeatedly shown the trailer for "Defiance" while Weitz's camera caught the flicker on their faces), he hopes that the filmmaker will shoot some silly action footage for his "Face Punch" mini-movie.
